Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?

Half seeing
The disciples were in the boat, worrying because they had only one loaf with them. They had just seen twice how thousands of people ate from a few loaves. Jesus asked how many baskets were left over. Twelve. Seven. Do you still not understand?
Straight afterwards Mark tells of a strange healing. A blind man in Bethsaida, after the first touch, says: I see men as trees, walking. Only after the second touch does he see clearly. Mark deliberately puts those stories side by side. The disciples were like that too: they saw half. And Jesus didn't give up on them.
Question for today
Where do I still see only half, and may Jesus touch me once more?
Prayer
Lord, I still see you only half. Touch me once more, until I see clearly. Thank you for your patience. Amen.
