The rejected stone
Jesus told about a vineyard that had been let out. The owner sent servants to collect the harvest. They were beaten and killed. Finally he sent his beloved son. He was killed too.
His listeners understood it was about them. The vineyard was a familiar image from Isaiah for Israel. And then Jesus quotes Psalm 118. What is rejected turns out to be the cornerstone.
Question for today
What have I rejected that might be a cornerstone?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you were rejected and became the cornerstone. Let me build on you. Amen.
