At his word
A royal official from Capernaum travelled to Cana, about thirty kilometres away. His son was dying. He begged Jesus to come with him. Jesus didn't go. He said only these few words.
John writes: the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. No proof, no Jesus at his side. On the way his servants came to meet him. The fever had left at exactly the hour Jesus had spoken.
Question for today
Do I dare to set out with nothing but his word?
Prayer
Lord, I often want proof first. Teach me to trust your word, and to take the road before I see the result. Amen.
