John doubted too

John the Baptist had pointed to Jesus as the one who was to come. But when he was in prison, he sent his disciples with a question. Are you really the one, or should we look for another?

Jesus gave no reproach, but evidence. The blind see, the deaf hear, the poor hear good news, as Isaiah had said. And straight afterwards he praised John as the greatest ever born. Doubt didn't make him any less.
