Why he came
Jesus said this in the house of Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector of Jericho. People outside were grumbling that he had gone to eat with a sinner.
In one sentence Jesus sums up why he came. Not to wait until lost people find their own way back, but to go and look for them. God isn't a doorkeeper, but a searcher out on the street.
Question for today
Do I feel sought, or mostly judged?
Prayer
Lord, you came to seek what was lost. Thank you for seeking me. Let me also seek others instead of judging them. Amen.
