The sign of Jonah

People asked Jesus for a miracle as proof. He refused, except for one sign: that of Jonah. The prophet who spent three days in the belly of a great fish and came out alive.

The King James says whale. The Greek word simply means sea monster. And three days and three nights was a way of speaking in those days, in which part of a day counts as a day. The sign isn't the fish, but the tomb that becomes empty.

Question for today

What proof am I asking God for, when the greatest sign has already been given?

Prayer

Lord, you gave the sign of the empty tomb. Let me not keep asking for more proof, but trust in what you have done. Amen.
