Two words
Matthew was sitting at the tax booth. As a tax collector he worked for the Roman occupier and was seen as a traitor and a cheat. Jesus walked past and said two words.
Matthew got up and followed him. Shortly afterwards Jesus sat at table with him, together with tax collectors and sinners. He didn't call those who were already doing well, but those who needed him.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, you called a tax collector. You call me too, just as I am. Give me the courage to get up and follow you. Amen.
