Into your hands

According to Luke, these are the last words of Jesus on the cross. He prays a line from Psalm 31, a psalm of someone entrusting himself to God.

Jesus adds one word: Father. His first words in Luke, as a twelve-year-old in the temple, were about his Father too. His life begins and ends that way. His last breath is an act of trust.

Question for today

What can I place in God's hands tonight?

Prayer

Father, into your hands I place this day. What went well and what went wrong. My worries and my people. I entrust them to you. Amen.
