What God calls clean

Peter was on a rooftop in Joppa and grew hungry. In a vision he saw a sheet with all kinds of animals that were unclean for Jews. A voice said: kill, and eat. Peter refused. It happened three times.

Straight afterwards men from Cornelius, a Roman officer, stood at the door. Peter understood. It wasn't about food, but about people. He went with them into a non-Jewish house and said: God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Question for today

Whom do I call unclean or inferior, while God sees differently?

Prayer

God, you make no distinction between people. Teach me to see no one as less, and to see everyone as you see them. Amen.
