Little flock
Jesus calls his followers a little flock. A small, vulnerable group, without power or influence. He doesn't deny that they are small.
But he adds that it is the Father's pleasure to give them the kingdom. It isn't a wage for their achievement. It is a gift God delights in giving. Being small is no problem for anyone who has a Father like that.
Question for today
Where do I feel small, and what does God want to give me there?
Prayer
Father, I am just a small sheep in a big world. Thank you that you love to give. Take away my fear and teach me to receive. Amen.
