Do I not have the right to do as I please with what is mine? Or are you envious because I am generous?

The last hour
A vineyard owner hired workers at different times of day. Some worked the whole day, others only the last hour. At the end everyone received the same wage: a denarius, a day's pay.
Those who had worked all day thought it unfair. But they had received what was agreed. The owner wasn't unjust to them, only generous to the others. An evil eye here means envy. With God it isn't about how long you have been part of it. Whoever comes late is just as welcome.
Question for today
Do I compare myself with others, or am I glad about God's goodness?
Prayer
Father, thank you that it is never too late to come. Keep me from envy at your goodness to others. Amen.
