Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

Weep not for me
On the way to Golgotha, Jesus could no longer carry his cross. A passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, was forced to take it over. A great crowd followed, and women wept for him.
Jesus turned towards them. Even on the way to his death he looked at others. He saw the misery awaiting the city. He wasn't occupied with his own pain, but with theirs.
Question for today
How can I keep looking at others, even in my own struggle?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, on the way to the cross you looked at the women of Jerusalem. Teach me to keep an eye on others, even in my own pain. Amen.
