Come, have breakfast.

The fire on the beach
The disciples had fished all night and caught nothing. At dawn someone was standing on the shore. When they came to land, a fire was already burning, with fish and bread. The King James says dine, but the Greek word means the first meal of the day. Breakfast.
John uses a word for that fire that means a charcoal fire. It appears only one other time in the New Testament: at the fire where Peter denied Jesus three times. By the same kind of fire, Jesus makes a new beginning. Not with an interrogation, but with food.
Question for today
Which old place could become a place of new beginning today?
Prayer
Lord, after an empty night you are ready with breakfast. Thank you that I don't have to catch anything before I may come to you. Make something new in me today. Amen.
