By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

By their fruits
Jesus says this about false prophets, who come in sheep's clothing but inwardly are wolves. How do you recognise them? Not by their words or the impression they make, but by what their lives produce.
It is a sober test. Whoever claims to speak for God may be tested. Not on fine words, but on fruit: love, honesty, peace. It applies to yourself too.
Question for today
What fruit does my life show?
Prayer
Lord, give me discernment about those who speak in your name. And let my own life bear good fruit. Amen.
