Shut the door
The Greek word translated closet actually means storeroom. In a simple house it was often the only room with a door. The place where you weren't disturbed.
Jesus warns against praying to be seen. Real prayer doesn't need an audience. It is a conversation between you and your Father, who sees what is hidden.
