Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

Thomas was allowed to look
Thomas wasn't there when Jesus first appeared to the disciples. He said he would only believe if he could see and touch the wounds himself. A week later Jesus stood in the room again. He didn't send Thomas away. He showed him his hands.
Doubt wasn't punished, it was answered. And then Jesus looks beyond that room, to everyone who would come later. Whoever hasn't seen is missing nothing. They are even called blessed.
Question for today
What question do I dare to put honestly to God today?
Prayer
Lord, you weren't shocked by Thomas's questions. Don't be shocked by mine either. Let me search with open eyes and an open heart. And where I cannot see, help me to trust anyway. Amen.
