With authority

Jesus was teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum. People were astonished, because he taught as one that had authority, not as the scribes. Then a man with an unclean spirit began to shout.

Jesus gave no long explanation and performed no ritual. Two short commands. And it happened. In Capernaum you can still see the remains of a later synagogue, built on older foundations. Perhaps Jesus stood right there.
