Deliver us
Jesus knew what temptation was. Straight after his baptism he was tested in the desert for forty days. He doesn't pray this as someone above the struggle.
The Greek can mean: deliver us from evil, or: deliver us from the evil one. Both translations exist. Either way, it is a prayer for protection, spoken by someone who knows he can't manage on his own.
Question for today
Where do I need protection today?
Prayer
Father, you know my weak spots. Keep me away from whatever pulls me away from you, and deliver me from evil. Amen.
