Thyatira: the morning star

Thyatira was a city of craftsmen and guilds. Lydia, the seller of purple who became a Christian in Philippi, came from there. The church was praised for its love and service, but warned about a false prophetess.

The promise is the morning star. At the end of Revelation Christ says: I am the bright and morning star. The star you see when the night is nearly over. He doesn't only give something. He gives himself.

Question for today

Where do I see the morning star, now that the night isn't over yet?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, you are the morning star. When it is still dark, let me see you, and know that the day is coming. Amen.
