Another helper
Jesus is preparing his disciples for his departure. He promises that they won't be left alone. Another Advocate is coming.
The word another matters. The Greek means: another of the same kind. Just as Jesus was with them, the Spirit will be with them. And not for a while, but for ever.
Question for today
Have I ever noticed that I wasn't alone?
Prayer
Father, thank you for the Advocate who stays. Let me notice today that he is with me, even when I feel alone. Amen.
