As we forgive

Matthew speaks of debts, Luke of sins. Sin is pictured as something you owe someone.

This is the only request Jesus says something more about straight after the prayer. Whoever forgives others will be forgiven. Receiving forgiveness and passing it on belong together, like breathing in and breathing out.
