A child is born, and the government rests on his shoulder. His names: Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of his kingdom on David's throne there will be no end.
This goes further than an ordinary king: a child called 'Mighty God' (El gibbor), the same expression Isaiah uses for God himself in Isaiah 10:21. This is probably the text you hear every year at Christmas, including in Handel's Messiah, which sets it in the words of the King James.
