Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.

In Joel this is the divine name, YHWH (see no. 62), and the King James shows it with capitals: the LORD. Peter quotes it at Pentecost and ends his sermon with: God hath made that same Jesus both Lord and Christ. Paul is even more explicit: if you confess that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved, for 'whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord'. He even describes Christians as 'all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord'. The Greek translation of the Old Testament rendered the divine name as kurios, Lord, and the first Christians called Jesus by exactly the same word.
