God will raise up the fallen tabernacle of David, so that the nations which are called by his name belong to it as well.
At the council of the apostles in Jerusalem, James, the brother of Jesus, uses this text to decide that non-Jewish believers do not have to become Jews. He quotes the Greek translation.
